crossfit

Crossfit can be defined as a program in which strength and the gradual adaptation of physical resistance are fully exercised. It is based on increasing the intensity of the ten most outstanding physical aptitudes by all the training specialists of any sport.

Footwork:  Walking, running, climbing. Your feet will be put to the test.

Heart Rate: The fastest way to reach results is to monitor the progress you make.

Weight lifting:  By slowly raising the bar weight, we are able to build muscles safely.

Yoga

It’s time to roll out your yoga mat! Doing yoga in Spanish is a great way to improve your vocabulary and listening comprehension skills.   What better way to practice vocabulary related to movement while reviewing parts of the body.  Don’t worry if you get mixed up; the teacher will demonstrate the pose and you can always take a peek at your classmates to make sure you’ve understood correctly. There is nothing intimidating about trying yoga in Spanish as the teacher speaks slowly and calmly really giving you the chance to follow along and immerse yourself in the practice.

Rock climbing/rapel

La Gomera has some fantastic climbing and rapel routes that you can experience with our partner!  Bring your Spanish to life as you shout out cheers of encouragement, learn technical terms and heaps of new vocabulary.  This activity is a favourite and will have you saying “vamos, otra vez!”  in no time at all.

hiking

With more than 500 kms of signposted trails woven across the island you can walk ancient shepherd paths, spot volcanic scars, and learn interesting facts about La Gomera’s rich past as you get up close and personal with the islands varied climatic zones.  Practice your conversation skills with our specialized Spanish tour guide and  learn new vocabulary with some of the islands unique flora and fauna.

Trail running

Trail Running in La Gomera is nothing short of epic; be prepared to test your  limits and your capabilities!  Home to Cristofer Clemente; trail runner and sky runner, who won the 2016 Skyrunner World Series in the Sky Ultra and silver medal at the 2017 IAU Trail World Championships.  With perfect temperatures year round, and circuits for all levels get your heart pumping and learn technical tips as well as how to read the landscape with our expert trail running guide. Zumba

Zumba is a fitness program that combines Latin and international music with dance moves. Routines incorporate interval training — alternating fast and slow rhythms — to help improve cardiovascular fitness.  You’ll be repeating Spanish lyrics and dance instructions in front of the mirror long after this class is done!  Make friends with locals and leave La Gomera with more than an improved level in Spanish your confidence will be brimming as you bond over 2 universals; music and dance! 

Salsa and Bachata

Salsa and Bachata are quintessentially iconic dances which bring their Spanish lyrics to life.  Learn dance steps and sequencing from our award winning Spanish speaking dance instructor.  Join group sessions or choose private sessions to practice at your own comfort and pace.
