who we are
what is Island learning?
Our History
Island Learning was formally established in 2020; however we’ve been around for quite some time. The school was founded as a language school in 2004 with the aim of teaching English to the local population both children and adults. Several years later we moved to our current location, which is in the heart of the town where we are privileged to be part of the historical core of San Sebastián. ‘Just a five minutes’ walk from the bay of San Sebastián and with the mountains and national park as a backdrop our school couldn’t be in a more idyllic setting.
La Gomera
This tiny yet majestically rugged island is a magical place just waiting to be discovered! La Gomera is the second smallest Island in the Canaries which are located off the north west coast of Africa. La Gomera is a circular island of volcanic origins which has left its landscape marred by its explosive past. A tour around the island will allow visitors to experience a variety of climates. At the heart of the island is the Garaonay National Park which is a world biosphere reserve and home to the ancient laurel forest. The island is a hiker’s paradise with over 600 kilometres of magnificent trails often following in the foot steps of local shepherds. Finally there are more than 20 spectacular view points located around the island for you to discover and enjoy.
